9.1M CMOS Sensor for High-Quality Movies and Stills

Using high-resolution, high-sensitivity and low-noise technologies, the Xacti CG9 can record both movies and still pictures in high resolution down to the smallest detail. Compared to earlier image sensors, each pixel covers a larger area, which greatly enhances light reception performance. This enables high-resolution shots and seamless recording with little noise. 9.1M still shots can be taken at high sensitivity.

High-Sensitivity Shooting at up to ISO1600

High-definition 9.1M pictures can be taken at ISO1600. Colors and expressions come out natural-looking, even in readily blurred scenes, such as indoors or at night, or when you prefer not to use the flash.

Scene Select Shot

By simply selecting a photo mode, you can take beautiful, fun pictures according to set photographic parameters.

Note (2): The modes listed above can also be used while shooting movies.

Face Chaser Keeps Even Moving Portrait Shots in Sharp Focus

This function lets you capture portrait shots with sharp accuracy. Faces are sensed even when they are moving, allowing up to 12 persons to be tracked. Automatic exposure is applied to the entire area, while automatic focus captures the person at the center of the frame. Also, you can zoom in on faces during playback.

Super Macro Shots from As Close As 1 cm

The Xacti CG9 includes a super macro mode that allows you to get as close as 1 cm from your subject at the wide-angle end. Tiny objects can be captured in bold close-ups for beautiful description down to the last detail.

Filter Functions

Snapshots are more fun to take when using one of the filter modes.

Cosmetic Mode

Skin comes out beautifully in close-ups of people.

Monochrome Mode

Pictures have the atmosphere of a black-and-white photo.

Sepia Mode

A nostalgic look results from using sepia toning.

Note (1): The images above are authentic images shot using the CG9.

Note (2): The modes listed above can also be used while shooting movies.

Real-Time Interpolation for Conversion to 12M Recording
An original algorithm that utilizes a pixel interpolation filter converts 9.1M images into the recorded equivalent of 12M (i.e. 4000 x 3000 pixels).

Versatile Manual Mode for True Photography

Focusing at 16 levels and exposure correction of +-1.8 EV in 0.3 EV steps. You can freely adjust picture quality (i.e. sharpness and saturation) to suit the scene.

Red-Eye Correction

The camera automatically detects red-eye in captured images and corrects it after the shot. Note: The corrective effect may differ depending on the subject and shooting conditions.
